We drove to Menghai and set foot on a place called Xishuangbanna Ancient Tea Horse Road Scenic Area to explore the native land of large-leaf tea.
In the afternoon, we went sightseeing. The place we visited was Mengjinglai. Mengjinglai is a natural village of the Dai ethnic group. This natural village of the Dai ethnic group is well preserved and is known as the "No. 1 village in China and Myanmar".

Day3: Shocking tour of biodiversity .
A whole day is reserved for the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is the largest botanical garden in China. As an existence called the "emerald heart", with more than 2,000 species of plants, it is the best place to appreciate tropical plants and a great place.
If the season meets the corresponding conditions, you can go to the Wild Elephant Valley. It is the only habitat of Asian elephants in China, and it is also the place where domestic wild elephant activities are most concentrated and frequent.

In mid-April, the most solemn event is the Water Splashing Festival of the Dai people. It is also called the Buddha Bathing Festival, and is called Sangkanbimai in Dai language. It lasts from 3 to 7 days, during which there are activities such as dragon boat racing and pendulum driving.
The best time to catch up with the Jino Tribe’s Temaoke Festival (Blacksmithing Festival) and experience the cattle robbing ceremony and the Jino Dance Festival is from February 6th to 8th.

In normal times, you can experience the joyful atmosphere of the Water Splashing Festival every day at Xishuangbanna Dai Garden. Remember to bring an extra set of clothes.

If you are looking for a lively atmosphere and night views, then the first choice is Gaozhuang Xishuangjing, because it is very close to the Starlight Night Market; if you prefer a quiet environment and cost-effectiveness, then Jinghong City is the place to choose; if you want to have an in-depth tour of Menghai, then you can choose a local tea culture themed inn.
Transportation : Jinghong has Gasa Airport, which is convenient for direct flights within the province.
In the city, you can rent a car and drive yourself, or charter a vehicle to go to Menghai and various tourist attractions, which gives you the highest degree of freedom. In addition, there are also express trains to scenic spots.
