The moon is full and the people are round, the family and the country share the same dream
It’s the Mid-Autumn Festival again.
When I was a child, the Mid-Autumn Festival was like counting the days on my fingers with anticipation, and I couldn’t help but secretly take a bite of the sweet mooncakes as soon as they were brought to the table.
As an adult, the Mid-Autumn Festival has become the day marked with a red circle on the calendar, the return trip that I click on again and again with the "acceleration package" in the ticket grabbing software.
A round of autumn shadow turns to golden waves, and the flying mirror is polished again.
The existence of festivals makes us particularly concerned about them. The root cause is the longing for "reunion" in our hearts and the attachment to "home" that exists in our bones.
Even if we are in different places, as long as we look up at the same bright moon, the softest place in our hearts will always be illuminated by it.
A bright moon reflects the thousand-year feelings of family and country
The moon in the Mid-Autumn Festival is never just the moon in the sky.
Over the years, it has always been hanging high in front of the window where the wanderer lives, falling to the pen tip of the poet's hand, and also reflected in the hearts of every ordinary person.
From the broad-minded feeling of "I hope that people will live forever, we can share the beauty of the moon thousands of miles away" to the sentimental meaning of "Tonight the moon is bright, I can't help but wonder who I miss in autumn", this round of bright moon is not just about the feeling of lovesickness.
A family is the smallest country, and a country is composed of thousands of families.
People often say that "everything thrives when a family is harmonious." In fact, the truth is very simple: the harmonious state of a family is the accumulation of countless small perfections; and the stability of thousands of families, when gathered together, creates a peaceful scene in the country.
September has just passed, and we commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Looking back at the magnificent past years, it was countless people with lofty ideals who gave up their small families and resolutely went to the cause of the nation. This is how we can now enjoy a meal safely under the moonlight and appreciate the moon with peace of mind.
Such a feeling of family and country is not just a slogan, but a spiritual support that still maintains tenacity after going through hardships. It is a cultural gene that flows in the blood.
Cultural roots in traditional festivals
Appreciating the moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival is actually "recognizing relatives".
This bright moon was seen by Confucius, Qu Yuan, Li Bai and Du Fu.
We and they are looking up at the same sky and chanting the same kind of nostalgia.
When the moonlight shines, with the help of this culture, we will feel more friendly and warm in our hearts.
Look, today, although the way we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival has changed, we can connect via video and send e-greeting cards, but the feeling of "we are together in this world even though we are apart" has never changed.

Even when we witness "Chang'e" carrying out lunar exploration operations, when we see "Tianwen" carrying out fire detection operations, when we see Beidou carrying out network construction work, we will have the feeling that the ancients' imagination of the moon palace has been realized today with the help of a brand new way.
Every time we turn to the moon to express our longing, it is like a dialogue and exchange with our ancestors, allowing us to understand more clearly where we originated and where we should move forward.
This sense of cultural identity cannot be replaced by anything.
Changing times at the reunion dinner table
Speaking of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the reunion dinner is inseparable.
When I was a child, I remember that the family reunion dinner was always quite grand. My parents would often prepare it many days in advance. The kitchen was steaming hot, which is the taste of home.
Nowadays, many families will choose to book a meal at a restaurant, or simply order takeout, thus saving them the trouble of frying and frying.
The dishes presented on the dinner table have changed, and the fillings in mooncakes have become richer. First, there were traditional five-nut bean paste fillings, and then developed to today's liquid custard and snow-skinned durian fillings.
But one thing has not changed, and that is the liveliness of the family sitting together, talking and laughing.
What we communicated at the dinner table was not only the daily trivial matters, but also the jobs we were engaged in, the academic performance of our children, and even the changes that had taken place in the country.
From eating a broken piece of mooncake when material was scarce, to now focusing on health, nutrition and sophistication, this dinner table that carries reunions is itself a condensed history of changes in the times.
It has witnessed the improvement of our living standards and every step of national development.
Use struggle to lift a better tomorrow
After the Mid-Autumn Festival, the holiday is over, and everyone goes to their respective posts.
In the final analysis, reunion is for a better start.
For each of us, working hard at ordinary jobs and managing our own small families with heart is actually adding bricks and tiles to our motherland.
For the health of more families, a doctor is on duty on the Mid-Autumn Festival night so that people can have good physical condition; in order to deliver the kindness on time, a courier boy shuttles on the streets so that people can receive the kindness they deserve; in order to use code to build a more convenient life, a programmer works overtime in front of the computer so that people can enjoy a convenient life experience.
These seemingly small efforts, when gathered together, are a powerful force that drives society forward.
The deep feelings of family and country are not illusory. They are hidden in every down-to-earth struggle that has been tempered. It is hidden in every moment of running for a better life after going through hardships.
The full moon of the Mid-Autumn Festival not only illuminates the joy of reunion, but also reflects the direction we are moving forward.
I hope that each of us can gain strength from traditional festivals, cultivate a deeper sense of family and country, and use our hands to create a more dazzling tomorrow.
