The core of the scenic spot is Butuo Cave, which is a grotto excavated in the Ming Dynasty. A statue of Guanyin is enshrined in the cave. The incense here is extremely strong. The Guanyin on the water on the embankment is the symbol of Little Putuo, and many tourists take photos here. There is also a stone "Western Boat" in the scenic area. From the height of the boat, you can look out at Dongqian Lake. The view is extremely broad, and the lake, distant mountains and sky are connected into one. If you want to take a rest, you can enjoy tea at Yuebo Building above the square, or go to the paintball center for live CS and barbecue activities. If you have children with you or love animals, then Youngor Safari Park is worth spending half a day there. It was formerly the Dongqian Lake Wildlife Park. Its biggest feature is that the water area is quite large. Many animals live by the lake or on the island, such as swans, flamingos, kangaroos, etc. The viewing experience is much better than that of traditional cage-style zoos. There are driving areas and walking areas in the park, where you can see giant pandas, golden monkeys, African lions and other rare animals up close. The important thing to note is that the zoo has an earlier closing time in the afternoon. During the peak season, which is from May 1st to October 31st, admission is closed at 15:30. During the off-season, which is from November 1st to April 30th of the following year, admission is still at 15:30. The opening hours are 08:00 to 16:30 and 09:00 to 16:30 respectively. The adult ticket is 130 yuan and the child ticket is 70 yuan. The transportation is convenient and can be reached by the city's 902, 106, 165, 388, 621, and 963 roads. It is recommended to go early in the morning, as it will take 3 to 4 hours to visit the entire zoo.
Taogong Island Scenic Area: Fan Li Xishi’s Retreat
Friends who love historical stories and leisure and relaxation must not miss Koh Tao Kung. This place is the legendary retreat of Fan Li and Xi Shi, so it is called the most auspicious and romantic place in Ningbo. The scenic area includes the Ancestral Court of the God of Wealth, the Five-Road God of Wealth Temple, and the Jiutai Big Yuanbao. Many locals come here to seek wealth and blessings. In addition to reminiscing about the past, the picnic and barbecue on Taogong Island is quite famous in Ningbo. Many people come to the lake specifically to have barbecue. The ingredients can be brought by themselves or purchased in the scenic spot. Dragon boat entertainment is also one of the special features, suitable for groups or friends to play together. A ticket of 30 yuan is required, and the opening hours are from 0800 to 1700, with basically no changes throughout the year. In terms of transportation, you can take Route 901 and Route 968 and get off at Taogongdao Station, or take Route 906, Route 96, Route 620, Route 629, Route 621, Route 624, Route 661, Route 961 and Route 66 and get off at "Dagonchakou Station". If you have plenty of time, you can visit Little Putuo in the morning, have a barbecue on Taogong Island at noon, and then go to the zoo in the afternoon. This is a perfect day.

The various scenic spots in Dongqian Lake are not close to each other. It is recommended to choose to drive or take a taxi to get there. If you take the bus, Route 901 is a general route and can reach Xiaoputuo and Taogong Island. If you want to go to the zoo, take Route 902 first. The free area is also very beautiful.
Dongqian Lake is not a single attraction, but a large resort area.
Go to Xiao Putuo to see the ancient ruins in the middle of the lake, go to the zoo to see the animals living in the waters, and go to Taogong Island to enjoy barbecue and ride dragon boats. Each of these three places has its own unique characteristics.
