Sometimes I feel that for patients with liver disease, eating is more worrying than taking medicine.
The bowl of rice being served is not about whether it tastes good or not, but about fear. I am afraid that eating it will cause adverse health conditions to the body, I am afraid that supplementation is not accurate, and I am afraid that it will cause discomfort to the organ that is in a silent state.
Those articles on the Internet always write about diet as being very "correct", such as high-quality protein, light and less oil, which all sound correct, but it is just like the smell of disinfectant in the ward, so clean that it makes people lose their appetite. Today I will not talk about the so-called "standard answers".
Don’t believe in “eating liver to replenish liver”, that’s just old almanac.
When I was a child, chickens were killed at home, and the chicken livers were often left to the person who was the most "weak". This obsession based on using the form to complement the form is still circulated on the dining tables of many families to this day.
But have you ever thought about it, the liver has the function of detoxification, and it is currently among the livers of animals. It is very likely that there are residual metabolic toxins and heavy metals when you contract a disease. It may also carry "diseases", but do you want to use it to nourish yourself?
If you believe this, it is better to believe a piece of steamed fish.
Porridge? Not a "good thing" either

Many patients showed that they did not want to eat regular meals. Upon seeing this, their family members began to cook porridge, such as millet porridge and pumpkin porridge. They were all cooked to an extremely pulpy level, which the family members thought was "easy to digest."
The liver cannot repair itself without protein. There is a bowl of porridge in which there is nothing else but carbohydrates. After drinking, the blood sugar will increase rapidly, and then the liver has to work overtime to convert the sugar into fat and store it - this behavior is not helpful, but causing trouble.
Don’t let “good digestion” become an excuse for “no nutrition”.
Chicken bone grass, loach, Tianjihuang... I looked at the prescriptions you gave me.
To be honest, the recipes are written in great detail, including chicken bone, grass, candied dates and pork stew, loach tofu soup, and Tianji yellow pork liver soup.
I have no way of showing that they are wrong. Traditional Chinese medicine and dietary therapy have been used for thousands of years, and some things do have their own principles. For example, chicken bone grass does have the effect of diluting dampness and reducing yellowing, and adzuki bean and winter melon soup can indeed diuretic.
But what I want to remind you is - don't think of it as "treatment" .

I have seen too many people who treat a prescription like a treasure and drink it every day. After drinking it, they end up with bloating and fatigue. Why is this? The reason is that no matter how good the medicine is, it depends on the individual's physical condition. Do you have a damp-heat constitution or a Yin-deficiency constitution? Is it liver stagnation or spleen deficiency? These are all different.
The truth about liver protection is actually very “boring”
After searching so much information, I finally found out that the real “liver-nourishing diet” is boring.
High-quality proteins include fish, chicken, tofu and eggs, which should be eaten every day. Don’t wait until you are hungry to eat, but eat smaller meals more often.
Low salt : Especially if you have ascites, it’s best to seal the pickle jar
Quit sugar : The fructose in drinks and snacks can directly damage the liver, which is more harmful than fat.
Absolute prohibition on alcohol : no alcohol, including the medicinal wine soaked with snakes
That's it. There is no magic "liver-nourishing food."

As I write this, I suddenly want to say something from my heart.
The so-called liver disease is really extremely tormenting. It does not kill you all of a sudden, but it can cause you to be as cautious as a frightened bird throughout your life.
Originally, eating should belong to the category of happiness, but it turned into a calculation of how many grams of salt, how many milliliters of water, and how many grams of protein. By calculating like this, people lose their appetite.
If you understand, do you understand? In fact, the repair ability of the liver is very powerful. As long as you stop damaging it wantonly and give it the right raw materials, it can gradually return to its original state on its own.
So, don’t always focus on those so-called folk remedies. Eat seriously and eat real meals - a square of steamed fish, a bowl full of multi-grain rice, a plate of vegetables blanched in boiling water. This is much stronger than anything else.
That's right, if you feel hungry before going to bed, try some warm lotus root powder or drink a small cup of yogurt. Don't make your liver continue to work in a hungry state.
So be it. Hope you can enjoy every meal.
