In 1999, Teaching Base Document No. 13.

At that time, I probably had not yet become a teacher, or had I just entered primary school? Who knows for sure? In any case, that document is like a seed, buried under the playground and in the classroom walls of most primary and secondary schools today. The document clearly states that good psychological quality is an extremely important part of future talent quality.

But who would have thought that more than 20 years later, mental health would become the most luxurious thing for children.

Those distress signals written in the corner of the blackboard

Our school publishes blackboard newspapers at least twice a semester to promote hygiene and health knowledge.

Last month, I went to check the sixth grade bulletin board. The theme was "Emotional Management." The blackboard newspaper is really beautiful. It has a little sun and a rainbow drawn on it, and there is also the "emotional stability" emoticon that has been very popular recently. However, in the lower right corner of the blackboard, there is a line of small words written in chalk, showing a crooked state:

"Who can lend me some happiness?"

I asked who wrote it, but no one acknowledged it. Later, the head teacher told me that the child was usually quite lively. I said, maybe that was the one who needed to be happy.

Morning activities are not just for stretching your muscles and bones

During the morning activities on Monday, we will talk about hygiene knowledge, such as the specific methods of brushing teeth, covering how to brush teeth, including related protective measures to prevent influenza.

Last week, I suddenly had a strange idea. After teaching the seven-step method of hand washing, I added a link. I asked the children, if you feel very sad, as if you have a cold, what will you do?

There was a state of silence on the playground. A little girl in second grade raised her hand and said in a small voice: "Teacher, can you cry when you are sad?".

I was stunned for a moment. Then I said, okay. sure.

The physical education teacher beside me whispered to me next to me, whether this situation did not fall within the scope of morning activities. I immediately responded that the document promulgated in 1999 clearly stated that mental health education should be fully integrated into the entire process of school education from beginning to end.

Red Scarf Radio Station, those unspoken words

At noon on Wednesday, the Red Scarf Radio Station will broadcast, which will broadcast knowledge about health care and good people and good deeds.

One time when I was on duty, a boy in fifth grade handed over a note and asked me to help him read it. What was written on the note was: "Today is my mother's birthday, but she was no longer alive last year. I would like to order a song called "Only Mom is Good in the World.".

That very day, my throat was so choked that I couldn't read it. Later, another girl in sixth grade helped him finish reading. When the song was playing on the radio, I saw him outside the radio station. He was sitting alone on the edge of the flower bed, his head lowered.

On campus, the sound from the radio station spreads throughout the entire area. However, there are some sounds that never reach the ears of the person who is supposed to hear them.

The secrets in the bulletin board, and the loneliness that is not hidden

Our school has a bulletin board that is changed every month. This issue presents a special topic on mental health, including "tips on interpersonal communication" and "how to get along well with classmates."

During recess, I passed by and saw a few girls standing in front of the bulletin board, pointing. After I slowly approached, I heard them discussing: "The third item here clearly states 'learn to share'. However, I lent her my eraser, but she did not lend me her pen. In this case, does it mean that she does not regard me as a true friend at all?".

"Maybe so," said another.

Those skills, the bulletin board taught them many, many skills, which were meant to be taught, but they were not told what the name should be for the tight feeling that appeared in their chests at the moment when their friends pushed them away.

Mental health lecture, and empty seats in the last row

On the afternoon of last Wednesday, we invited experts from the district to give a lecture on mental health. The theme of the lecture was "How to deal with setbacks."

The lecture theater was packed with people. However, I noticed that there were a few empty seats in the last few rows. The head teacher said that those children were called to make up their homework. I asked why. The head teacher sighed softly: "The results are not ideal. The parents claim that mental health and other issues should be improved first and then we can talk about it."

Halfway through the lecture, I quietly went out and saw the boy making up homework behind the teaching building, next to the table tennis table. He hit the wall alone, again and again, with extra force.

When he saw me, he stopped and asked me, "Teacher, am I not healthy if I didn't go to the lecture today?"

I don't know how to answer.

Those things about Chuangwei, and the anxiety that cannot be wiped away

This year, our city launched an action to create a national-level sanitary city, and the school has been busy from the inside out for more than half a year. A school-wide personal hygiene inspection is conducted every week, including whether nails are too long, whether hair is clean, and whether school uniforms are dirty.

The children received extremely good training. During the inspection last week, a little girl stretched out her hand. Her ten nails were neatly trimmed, and there was no dust between the nails. I complimented the little girl and she looked up at me. With bright eyes, she asked: "Teacher, can I be rated as a health model?"

I said yes.

She didn't leave, but stood there and asked me again: "Teacher, can being a health role model make me happy?"

I hugged her. She exuded the fragrance of laundry detergent and looked clean. However, I knew in my heart that what was clean was not just her school uniform, but also the world in her eyes that had not been stained.

I want to tell her, and at the same time, I want to tell every child who squats in a corner of the blackboard and writes "Who can lend me a little happiness?"——.

Health is by no means just the length of your nails, nor is it just the way you wash your hands. Health is the ability to cry, to be melancholy, to play ball against the wall alone, and to have emotions that are not so "hygienic."

The document issued by the Ministry of Education in 1999 clearly stated that mental health education is not moral education, and it is inappropriate to treat it medically, and it is not allowed to subject it to disciplines.

It just sees you.

I saw you hanging your head at the door of the radio station, I saw you in a daze in front of the bulletin board, I saw you absent from the last row of the lecture, I saw you working hard alone by the table tennis table.

And tell you, it doesn't matter.

You don't always need to be healthy.
