After walking a few miles east from the noisy Cotton City, my heart calmed down.

That road was not easy to walk. It was a dirt road full of yellow mud, twisting and turning, turning east and west. Then, suddenly, I saw the mountain. The majestic momentum was really spectacular. Stones stood upright, and ancient trees squeezed into the gaps between the mountains were so green that they seemed to turn black. Looking from a distance, you can see some raised eaves, hidden in the mountains.

Did Dadian really stay here?

In the sixth year of Zhenyuan of the Tang Dynasty, that is, in 790 AD, a monk named Dadian, who was fifty years old at the time, came here. At the age of fifty, he would have been ready to retire and go dance in the square now, but instead he came to build mountains.

I was thinking, did he see the mountain the same way I see it now?

What Xiao Duanmeng wrote was the door plaque of Zhuoxi Temple. The four words "Zhuoxi Ancient Temple" have the meaning of Ming Dynasty, which is really elegant. However, the pair of words at the door, that is, "One pillar holds up the sky for eternity, and a single vase hangs on the wall for ten thousand years of spring." Legend has it that it was inscribed by Dadian himself. Is it true or false?

One pillar holds the sky. Single bottle hanging on the wall.

These eight characters stuck there, like a riddle.

How many people have been deceived by that spring?

In the temple, there is a spring named Zhuoxiquan. I heard that Dadian used his Zen staff, also known as a tin staff, to poke it hard against the ground, and then the water came out, and the water was extremely sweet.

I lay down by the spring and watched for a long time.

The water is indeed flowing, and it has continued uninterrupted for thousands of years, even if there is a long drought. However, I have always been thinking, is this story too familiar? Which eminent monk would not create a spring when opening a mountain gate? It seems that without such a plot, it would be embarrassed to be called an ancient temple.

Maybe they need a miracle too much. In other words, I really need a reason to stay.

The spring water was very cold, so I didn't drink it.

Stones can talk, but they talk in a messy way

Going up the mountain, it's all rocks. Stone with writing on it.

These two lines of poems were written by people from the Song Dynasty, those words about cursing mothers were insulted by people from the Yuan Dynasty, and the handwriting of "visiting here" was added by people from the Ming Dynasty. The two characters "Feiyun" in the shape of seal script are said to have been written by Wang Yongwen of the Yuan Dynasty. The momentum exuded by this font is indeed grand and vigorous. However, next to it are packed with regular scripts of the Qing Dynasty that are as small as ants and densely packed with regular and orderly calligraphy.

There are 51 existing cliff carvings in Dongyan. 51, there has been a quarrel for more than a thousand years.

The most annoying thing are the titles, such as "So-and-so took his wife and children to enjoy the scenery here." When you go to enjoy the scenery, just enjoy the scenery. What are you doing by carving it on stone? Are you afraid that people who come after you will not know that you have been here? But then I thought, if I had not read these words, I would not have known that there was a person hundreds of years ago, standing in this place like me, looking at the same sky.

The temple popping out of the cracks in the rocks

Shiyan Temple is even more unique, it simply grows in the cracks of the rocks.

At the time of the Apocalypse in the Ming Dynasty, a guy named Ignorance Monk found a cave and built a temple after digging it. Buddha statues were carved on the stone walls and stones were used as beams. This kind of situation cannot be regarded as building a temple. It is clearly negotiating with the stone to live together.

"Stone" and "Spring" are the protagonists here. On the contrary, people live in it on loan.

It starts with Zhuoxi Temple, extends to Shiyan Temple, and finally reaches the top of the mountain is Jinding Temple. These three temples are arranged in the shape of "pin", which is very interesting. As if they were acting as three chess pieces, they were firmly nailed to the east mountain, thus interpreting an endgame that has not yet ended after thousands of years.

I turned around the mountain and bumped into some people I shouldn’t forget.

After crossing the ridge, the wind suddenly picked up.

In the direction facing Jinding Temple, you can see the sea. The sea surface showed light waves, which indeed reflected the blue sky. Speaking of the poem written by Yang Zhongyue, it is quite good. There are sentences such as "Chaoyang scenery is leisurely" in it. The leisurely situation is simply unbearable. Standing here, the wind is strong enough to blow people away.

He Xianling is at the other end, close to Lianjiang. Almost got sidetracked.

Buried here is He Yeyun, the lice mother fairy. He was a loser. He was Chen Youliang's military advisor. He lost nothing in the battle of Poyang Lake. Then he went to Chaoshan and pretended to be crazy. He was covered with lice and was a good look at Feng Shui. The tomb was built later, during the Guangxu period. The monument is engraved with "Tomb of Mr. Yuandi Xianlu Mushan".

The word "Yuan".

Quite interesting! Obviously he passed away in the 26th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, but he had to have the word "Yuan" engraved on him. Are you not convinced? Or don’t you admit it at all?

The big catalpa tree in front of the tomb has lasted for more than a hundred years. It is like an umbrella, covering the turtle's tail. The corridor next to it has a spire similar to that of a Thai temple, which looks nondescript, but it is not ugly.

In fact, who cares about authenticity

On the other side of Xiyan there is a place called Haichao Ancient Temple, where Xiao Duanmeng studied and studied when he was young. As for Beiyan, what is left for Beiyan now?

But I don't want to go.

On this day, I traveled from Dongyan to He Xianling, starting from Zhenyuan of the Tang Dynasty to the 13th year of Guangxu, and then to 1998 for reconstruction. The stones are still the same stones, and the spring is still the same spring. The cave where Dadian sat still exists, as does the turtle-shaped tomb of Lice Mother Fairy.

But what about them?

They have all turned into legends. Some legends have been recorded in county annals, some legends have been engraved on stones, and some legends have only been passed down from generation to generation through common people's mouths. The spread was chaotic, but no one forgot it.

That's enough.

On the way back, the setting sun reflected the cliffs in a golden color. I suddenly recalled the second half of the couplet - Ten Thousand Years of Spring
.

A single bottle hanging on the wall means spring for thousands of years.

There are no flowers in the vase, but spring seems to have been hanging here for more than a thousand years.
