Travel souvenirs are not only memories of travel, but also the carrier of a city’s culture.
In March 2014, Tianjin held the 4th Tourist Souvenir Competition. The purpose was to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Municipal Party Committee Plenary Session and to comply with the requirements of the city's tourism work conference, which lasted until September.
The organizers of this competition are the Tianjin Municipal Tourism Bureau, Tianjin Municipal Education Commission and other units. The specific organizer is Tianjin Zhongboda Cultural Development Co., Ltd., which has received special support from the Tourism Goods and Equipment Branch of the China Tourism Association. At the same time, it also received special support from the Tianjin Folk Writers and Artists Association.
Competition theme and objectives
The theme of this competition is "Epitome of Modern China, Centennial Cultural Charm". The purpose is to fully explore Tianjin's profound historical and cultural heritage and to give full play to its unique tourism resource advantages.
By improving the design and research and development level of tourist souvenirs, we will extend the tourism industry chain and enrich the types of tourism products, thereby activating the domestic tourism consumer market in Tianjin, creating a new image of "Beautiful Tianjin", and highlighting the unique style of "Daily Enjoyable Tianjin".
Entries
The competition received a total of 1,185 entries, including 643 design entries and 542 physical entries, and the entries increased by 15% compared to last year.
These works fully demonstrated the creativity and talent of the contestants, and also reflected everyone's attention and enthusiasm for Tianjin tourist souvenirs.

Compared with the past, the works in this year's competition are more innovative in terms of creativity and richer in variety, further highlighting many characteristics such as commemoration, fashion, technology and practicality.

This work fully explores Tianjin culture, folk art, and modern craftsmanship. It has strong Tianjin tourism characteristics.
The wide range of participation is also a notable feature of this competition.
More than ten professional schools participated in this year's tourist souvenir design competition, including Beijing University of Information Science and Technology and Shenyang University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
In addition, the influence of the competition continues to expand. All districts and counties in the city participate in it, relevant professional schools participate, associations participate, social groups participate, and professional companies participate. Not only that, Beijing actively participates, Hebei actively participates, Shenyang actively participates, and Shaanxi and other domestic regions also actively participate.
The new special exhibition area is also a major innovation of the competition.
During the China Tourism Industry Expo, an exhibition of award-winning works in the design category and physical works was carried out. The exhibition was divided into 15 categories in total, and all selected works were displayed.
There is a newly established exhibition area for must-buy travel product counters, as well as a special exhibition area for the "Everyday Ledao Relish" tourism image logo, which is refreshing.

Tianjin City held the 4th Tourism Souvenir Competition. The competition was successfully held and injected new vitality into the development of Tianjin's tourism commodity industry.
